This procedure is intended for Page Designer administrators who want to manually select products for cross-selling using the mini version of the Product Recommendations (Manual) Component.

Component Objective

The Mini Product Recommendations (Manual) Component is the mini version of the Product Recommendations (Manual) Component.

Its purpose and setup follow the same principle:

The administrator manually selects the product SKUs that should be recommended.

The component is intended for cross-selling and provides direct control over which products are displayed.

The main difference is its presentation: the Mini version presents the recommendations in a compact carousel format.

Cross-Selling Purpose

Use Mini Product Recommendations (Manual) when specific products should be recommended without implying that they form a routine or need to be used in a particular sequence.

The products are manually selected by the administrator.

Conceptually:

Mini Product Recommendations (Manual)

→ Product SKU
→ Product SKU
→ Product SKU
→ Additional Product SKUs as required

There is no numbered routine or sequential meaning associated with the products.

General Settings

The component provides:

• Header
• Subheader
• Colored background
• Add margins on sides of carousel

It then provides multiple Product fields under:

Manual Product Recommendations

Optional Header

The Header is optional.

Use it when the mini product recommendation carousel requires an introductory title.

Leave it empty when no Header is required.

Optional Subheader

The Subheader is also optional.

Use it when additional introductory context is required.

Leave it empty when no Subheader is necessary.

Colored Background

The component provides a Colored background option.

Enable or disable this option according to the intended presentation of the recommendation section.

Add Margins on Sides of Carousel

The Mini version provides the additional option:

Use this setting when margins are required on the sides of the carousel.

This setting allows the administrator to control whether the carousel uses this additional spacing treatment.

Manual Product Recommendations

Under Manual Product Recommendations, multiple Product fields are available.

For each product that should be recommended, manually add the corresponding SKU.

Each Product field represents one product in the recommendation selection.

Number of Products

Multiple Product fields are available.

No maximum number of products has been established for this procedure.

Use the available Product fields according to the number of products required.

Do not apply the four-product limitation of Product Recommendations (Complete your Routine) to this component.

Mini Product Recommendations vs. Product Recommendations (Manual)

The two components follow the same core setup and cross-selling purpose.

Choose between them according to the presentation required for the page.

Difference From Complete your Routine

Do not confuse the Mini Product Recommendations (Manual) Component with Product Recommendations (Complete your Routine).

Mini Product Recommendations (Manual)

Products are manually selected for cross-selling.

There is no required sequence.

Product Recommendations (Complete your Routine)

Products form a genuine routine and are presented as numbered steps.

Use Complete your Routine only when product order has a real meaning.

Recommended Use

Use Mini Product Recommendations (Manual) when:

• The requirement is cross-selling.
• The administrator needs direct control over the selected SKUs.
• A mini carousel presentation is appropriate for the page.
• The products do not represent sequential steps of a routine.

Enter the Correct SKUs

Each Product field identifies a product through its SKU.

Make sure the correct SKU is used for every intended product.

Do Not Apply the Complete your Routine Rules

The Mini Product Recommendations (Manual) Component does not use the numbered routine logic of Complete your Routine.

Do not treat the order of products as a product-usage sequence.

Do Not Assume a Four-Product Limit

A four-product maximum has only been established for Product Recommendations (Complete your Routine).

No such maximum has been established here.

Header and Subheader Are Optional

Only populate these fields when they improve the recommendation section.

Consider the Carousel Side Margins

The Mini version provides Add margins on sides of carousel.

Configure this according to the presentation required for the carousel.

1. Define the Cross-Selling Selection

Determine which products should be recommended.

The products should complement the intended visitor journey, but they do not need to form a sequence.

2. Gather the Product SKUs

Identify the SKU of each product that should appear in the Mini Product Recommendations carousel.

These SKUs will be entered into the individual Product fields.

3. Add Mini Product Recommendations (Manual)

Locate:

Mini Product Recommendations (Manual)

in Page Designer.

Add the component to the required location.

4. Configure the Optional Header

Under General, enter a Header when the recommendation section requires a title.

Leave the field empty when no Header is required.

5. Configure the Optional Subheader

Enter a Subheader when additional introductory context is required.

Leave it empty when no Subheader is necessary.

6. Configure the Colored Background

Enable:

Colored background

when the colored treatment is required.

Otherwise, leave the option disabled.

7. Configure Carousel Side Margins

Determine whether the mini carousel should use additional margins on its sides.

Enable:

Add margins on sides of carousel

when the side margin treatment is required.

Otherwise, leave the option disabled.

8. Locate Manual Product Recommendations

Scroll to:

Manual Product Recommendations

Multiple Product fields are available.

9. Add the First Product

In the first required Product field, enter/select the SKU corresponding to the product that should be recommended.

Confirm that the SKU corresponds to the intended product.

10. Add Additional Products

Continue through the available Product fields.

For each additional recommendation:

1. Locate the next Product field.
2. Enter/select the required SKU.
3. Confirm that the SKU corresponds to the intended product.

Repeat according to the number of products required.

11. Review the Product Selection

Before saving, review all populated Product fields.

Confirm that:

• The intended SKUs have been selected.
• No incorrect product has been added.
• The selection represents the intended cross-selling experience.
• The products are not being presented as steps of a routine.

12. Review the Presentation Settings

Confirm the intended configuration for:

• Header
• Subheader
• Colored background
• Add margins on sides of carousel

Make sure the settings support the desired mini carousel presentation.

13. Click Apply

Once the component has been configured, click:

Apply

to save the configuration.

14. Validate on Staging

Validate the Mini Product Recommendations (Manual) Component on the appropriate staging storefront.

Confirm that:

• The optional Header displays correctly when configured.
• The optional Subheader displays correctly when configured.
• The Colored background displays as intended when enabled.
• Side margins display as intended when Add margins on sides of carousel is enabled.
• The intended products appear.
• Each SKU corresponds to the expected product.
• The products display correctly within the mini carousel.
• The resulting experience communicates cross-selling rather than a numbered product routine.

The key principle is:

Mini Product Recommendations (Manual) follows the same manually controlled cross-selling logic as Product Recommendations (Manual), but uses a mini carousel presentation. Select the required products using their SKUs and use the dedicated side-margin option when appropriate. Do not confuse it with Complete your Routine, which is reserved for products that form a genuine sequential routine.
