Component Objective

The Product Recommendations (Manual) Component is a cross-selling component that allows administrators to manually select the products they want to recommend.

The administrator determines which products should appear by adding the corresponding SKUs to the available Product fields.

Unlike Product Recommendations (Complete your Routine), the products selected here do not represent steps in a routine and are not presented as a sequence.

The component is intended for:

Manually selected product recommendations / cross-selling.

Manual Product Selection

The defining characteristic of this component is that the administrator directly determines which products are recommended.

Under Manual Product Recommendations, the component provides multiple Product fields.

For each product that should be recommended, add the corresponding SKU.

Conceptually:

Product Recommendations (Manual)

→ Product SKU
→ Product SKU
→ Product SKU
→ Product SKU
→ Additional Product SKUs as required

This gives the administrator direct control over the product selection.

Cross-Selling

This component should be considered the Page Designer cross-selling component.

Use it when products complement the current content or when specific products should be recommended together without implying that they must be used in a particular sequence.

The purpose is:

These products may also be relevant to you.

It is not:

Use Product 1, followed by Product 2, followed by Product 3.

That distinction determines whether Product Recommendations (Manual) or Complete your Routine should be selected.

Optional Header

The component provides an optional Header.

Use it when the product recommendation section requires a title or introduction.

Leave the Header empty when no title is required.

Optional Subheader

The component also provides an optional Subheader.

Use it when additional introductory context is required.

Leave it empty when no Subheader is necessary.

Colored Background

The component provides a Colored background option.

Enable or disable this setting according to the intended presentation of the product recommendation section.

Product Fields

Under Manual Product Recommendations, the component provides multiple Product entries.

Each Product field is used to manually identify a product that should appear in the recommendation section.

Enter/select the appropriate SKU for each product.

Use additional Product entries for each additional product that should be included.

Number of Products

The component provides multiple Product fields.

No maximum number of products has been established in this procedure.

Use the available Product fields according to the number of products required for the cross-selling selection.

Do not assume that the four-product limitation of Complete your Routine applies to this component.

Product Recommendations (Manual) vs. Complete your Routine

These two components both display products, but they serve different purposes.

The choice should be based on the relationship between the products.

When to Use Product Recommendations (Manual)

Use this component when the requirement is to:

• Cross-sell products
• Recommend specific products manually
• Display complementary products
• Control which SKUs are promoted
• Recommend several products without communicating a usage sequence

The administrator chooses the products directly.

When Not to Use It

Do not use Product Recommendations (Manual) when the purpose is to communicate a routine with a defined product sequence.

For that requirement, use:

The Complete your Routine component is specifically designed to communicate numbered product steps.

Do Not Transfer Settings From Other Product Recommendation Components

Product Recommendations (Manual) has its own configuration.

Do not assume that settings available in another Product Recommendations component are also available here.

For example, the configuration shown for this component consists of:

• Header
• Subheader
• Colored background
• Manual Product Recommendations

Configure the component according to the fields it actually provides.

This Is a Cross-Selling Component

Use Product Recommendations (Manual) for manually selected complementary products.

Do not introduce routine or sequential meaning where none exists.

Enter the Correct SKU

Products are manually selected through their SKUs.

Make sure the SKU entered corresponds to the intended product.

Do Not Apply the Four-Product Limit From Complete your Routine

Complete your Routine supports up to four products.

That restriction has not been established for Product Recommendations (Manual).

Use the Product fields available in this component.

Do Not Use Complete your Routine for Generic Cross-Selling

If the products do not form a genuine sequence, Product Recommendations (Manual) is the appropriate component.

Header and Subheader Are Optional

Only use these fields when introductory content is required.

Do Not Assume Settings From Other Product Components

Configure only the settings actually available in Product Recommendations (Manual).

1. Define the Cross-Selling Selection

Determine which products should be recommended.

The products should be selected because they are relevant to the intended cross-selling experience.

They do not need to represent a sequence.

2. Gather the Product SKUs

Identify the SKU for every product that should be included.

The administrator will use these SKUs to populate the Manual Product Recommendations.

3. Add Product Recommendations (Manual)

Locate:

Product Recommendations (Manual)

in Page Designer.

Add the component to the required location.

4. Configure the Optional Header

Under General, configure the Header if the product recommendation section requires an introduction.

Leave the field empty when no Header is required.

5. Configure the Optional Subheader

Configure the Subheader if additional introductory context is required.

Leave the field empty when no Subheader is necessary.

6. Configure the Colored Background

Determine whether the recommendation section should use the available colored background treatment.

Enable:

when required.

Otherwise, leave the option disabled.

7. Locate Manual Product Recommendations

Scroll to:

Manual Product Recommendations

The component provides multiple Product fields.

Each Product field represents one manually selected product recommendation.

8. Add the First Product

In the first required Product field, enter/select the SKU of the product that should be recommended.

Confirm that the SKU corresponds to the intended product.

9. Add Additional Products

Move to the next Product field and add the SKU of the next product to recommend.

Repeat this process for the complete cross-selling selection:

Continue using the available Product fields according to the requirement.

10. Review the Product Selection

Before saving, review all populated Product fields.

Confirm that:

• Every SKU is correct.
• Every selected product belongs in the intended recommendation selection.
• No unintended SKU has been added.
• The products are being recommended as cross-selling rather than as steps in a routine.

11. Click Apply

Once the Header, Subheader, Colored background and required Product fields have been configured, click:

Apply

to save the component configuration.

12. Validate on Staging

Validate the completed Product Recommendations (Manual) Component on the appropriate staging storefront.

Confirm that:

• The optional Header appears correctly when configured.
• The optional Subheader appears correctly when configured.
• The Colored background displays as intended when enabled.
• The intended products are displayed.
• Each entered SKU corresponds to the expected product.
• The component presents the intended cross-selling selection.
• The products are not presented as a numbered routine or sequential experience.

The key principle is:

Use Product Recommendations (Manual) for cross-selling when you want direct control over which products are recommended. Add the desired products manually using their SKUs, and use Complete your Routine instead only when the products genuinely need to be communicated as sequential steps of a routine.
