This procedure explains how to configure strike-through sale prices within Salesforce Commerce Cloud using secondary Sale Price Books.

• Strike-through prices rely on a secondary Sale Price Book.
• The Sale Price Book must:
  • use the same currency as the primary Price Book
  • be assigned to the same site
  • be based on the primary Price Book
• Sale pricing is SKU based.
• Incorrect Price Book configuration may prevent strike-through prices from appearing in the storefront.

Prerequisites

Before starting:

• Confirm which site and currency you are working on
• Verify the Sale Price Book already exists
• Prepare the SKU references of the products requiring discounts
• Make sure the Sale Price Book is assigned to the correct site

Procedure

1. Access Price Books

Go to:

Merchant Tools → Products and Catalogs → Price Books

This section contains all Price Books configured across Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

2. Identify the Correct Price Books

Each site generally contains:

• A primary List Price Book
• A secondary Sale Price Book

Example:

Primary Price Book:

• pricebook-list-poland

Secondary Sale Price Book:

• pricebook-sale-poland

The Sale Price Book is responsible for displaying strike-through prices on the storefront.

3. Verify Sale Price Book Configuration

Before configuring discounts, verify that the Sale Price Book:

• Uses the same currency as the primary Price Book
• Is assigned to the same site
• Is configured as “Based On” the primary Price Book

Failure to meet these conditions may prevent strike-through prices from appearing correctly in the storefront.

4. Configure the Sale Price

Open the secondary Sale Price Book.

Go to:
Price Definitions

Search for the product using:

• SKU
• Product Name

Enter the discounted sale price.

Click “Apply” to save the changes.

Once configured:

• The storefront displays the original price as strike-through
• The discounted price becomes the active storefront price
