Some campaigns require combining two different benefits:

• A discount (e.g. 15% off)
• A Gift With Purchase (GWP)

Example:

Buy any product → get 15% OFF + 1 free cleanser

Why Tiered Approach Does Not Work

A common mistake is trying to use a tiered setup like:

• Buy 0+ → get discount
• Buy 1+ → get gift

This will not work, because:

• 0 is not a valid threshold in SFCC
• Minimum conditions must start from 1 or more
• Same issue applies to amount-based logic (e.g. €1 vs €2 thresholds)

👉 The system will reject or misinterpret this configuration.

Forward-Looking Note

An enhancement is being considered to support combined benefit logic within a single structure.

👉 Until then, this 2-promotion setup is the only reliable approach.

• Trying to force both benefits into one promotion will fail
• Tiered logic cannot mix reward types within the same step
• Misaligned qualifiers will break the experience
  (e.g. discount applies but no gift)
• Promotion conflicts may block one benefit

1. Create the Discount Promotion

Go to: Merchant Tools → Online Marketing → Promotions

• Click New
• Enter ID and Name
• Set Enabled to YES
• Select Order or Product Promotion
• Condition: Buy 1 or more
• Define discount (e.g. 15%)

Configure qualifying products:

• Select ID or Categories
• Use ADD Include (OR) for flexible eligibility

Click Save.

2. Create the Gift With Purchase Promotion

Go to: Merchant Tools → Online Marketing → Promotions

• Click New
• Enter ID and Name
• Set Enabled to YES
• Select Order Promotion
• Condition: Buy 1 or more
• Select Bonus Product as benefit

Define the gift:

• Click …
• Select the SKU of the bonus product

Configure qualifying products:

• Use the same qualifiers as the discount promotion
• Select ID or Categories
• Use ADD Include (OR)

Click Save.

3. Verify Promotion Compatibility

• Set Exclusivity to NO for both promotions
• Ensure promotions are allowed to be combined

👉 Both promotions must run together.

4. Create the Campaign

Go to: Merchant Tools → Online Marketing → Campaigns

• Click New
• Enter ID
• Set Enabled to YES

5. Configure Campaign

• Set Start Date and End Date
• Assign coupon (if applicable)

6. Assign Both Promotions

In the Experiences section:

• Add the discount promotion
• Add the GWP promotion
• Set Required Qualifiers to ALL

Click Apply.

7. Save and Test

• Add a qualifying product to cart
• Apply coupon (if required)
• Verify:
• Discount is applied
• Gift is added

Compatibility Configuration (Important)

Because both promotions run together:

• Set Exclusivity = NO
• Or explicitly configure:
  • Combinable Promotions
  • Avoid accidental blocking between the two

👉 Otherwise, one promotion may cancel the other.

Procedure Notes

• Mixed benefit campaigns always require multiple promotions
• Both promotions must share identical trigger logic
• This setup mimics a “combined reward” experience
