This procedure explains how to create a Gift with Purchase campaign in Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

This type of campaign allows customers to receive one or multiple bonus products when specific conditions are met, either automatically or by selecting from a list.

• Incorrect qualifiers may unlock gifts too easily
  Always validate conditions carefully
• ADD vs ADD Include is critical
  Wrong logic may prevent the promotion from triggering
• Bonus product must exist and be available (online) + Searchable
  Missing or out-of-stock items can break the experience
• Multiple gifts increase cost quickly
  Always validate financial impact

  Review exclusivity and active campaigns
• Tiered setups must be tested thoroughly
  Misconfiguration may give too many or too few rewards

1. Create the Coupon

Go to: Merchant Tools → Online Marketing → Coupons

• Click New
• Enter a clear ID
• Set Enabled to YES
• Set Case Sensitive to YES
• Select Single Code
• Define redemption rules if needed

In Coupon Codes:

• Create an easy-to-use code

Click Save.

2. Create the Promotion

Go to: Merchant Tools → Online Marketing → Promotions

• Click New
• Enter ID and Name
• Set Enabled to YES

If the gift should not combine with other promotions:

• Adjust Exclusivity accordingly

3. Configure Promotion Rule

• Select Order Promotion
• Condition: Order with number of qualifying products
• Set: Buy 1 or more
• Select Bonus Product as benefit

4. Define the Gift (Bonus Product)

In the Bonus Product(s) section, you have two configurations:

Automatic Gift

• Select Bonus Product(s)
• Click …
• Select one or multiple SKUs

👉 The gift is automatically added to the cart.

Choice-Based Gift

• Select Choice of Bonus Products (List)
• Define a list of eligible SKUs

👉 The customer selects their preferred gift.

Advanced (Tiered Gift Strategy)

• Define multiple bonus thresholds based on quantity or basket size
• Increase number of gifts as conditions are met
• Combine automatic and selectable gifts

Examples:

• Buy 1 → choose 1 gift
• Buy 2 → choose 2 gifts
• Buy 3 → automatic gift + selectable gift

👉 This allows highly engaging campaigns while controlling cost.

5. Configure Qualifying Products (Critical)

Click Edit under qualifying products.

You can define eligibility using:

• Categories → broad eligibility
• ID → specific product selection

Combining Qualifiers:

• ADD → AND logic
• ADD Include → OR logic

Examples:

• ADD (AND): Product A AND Product B required
• ADD Include (OR): Product A OR Product B required

You can mix qualifiers:

• Category + SKU selection
• Multiple categories
• Product groups

👉 Most GWP campaigns use OR logic to allow flexibility.

Click Save, then Apply.

6. Configure Excluded Products (Optional)

• Select SKUs that should NOT trigger the gift

👉 Prevents low-value products from unlocking the reward.

7. Save the Promotion

Click Save.

8. Create the Campaign

Go to: Merchant Tools → Online Marketing → Campaigns

• Click New
• Enter ID
• Set Enabled to YES

9. Configure Campaign

• Set Start Date and End Date
• Assign the Coupon

👉 No need to define customer groups when using a coupon.

10. Assign Promotion

In the Experiences section:

• Click +
• Select the promotion
• Set Required Qualifiers to ALL

Click Apply.

11. Save and Test

• Add qualifying products to cart
• Apply coupon
• Verify gift is added or selectable
