This procedure explains how to create a tiered promotion campaign in Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

This type of campaign applies different rewards based on quantity thresholds, allowing you to progressively incentivize customers to increase their basket size.

• Promotions may stack if not controlled
  Without exclusivity rules, multiple tiers may apply simultaneously
• Incorrect qualifiers can inflate eligibility
  Broad conditions may allow customers to reach higher tiers too easily
• ADD vs ADD Include is critical
  AND logic may block progression, OR logic enables flexibility
• Mixing reward types requires careful validation
  Discount + gift combinations can increase cost significantly
• High discounts (e.g. 99.99%) must be controlled
  Combined with tiers, this can reduce pricing drastically
• Tier logic must be tested thoroughly
  Always validate behavior for each threshold

1. Create the Coupon

Go to: Merchant Tools → Online Marketing → Coupons

• Click New
• Enter a clear ID
• Set Enabled to YES
• Select Single Code
• Create a coupon code

Click Save.

2. Create Multiple Promotions (One per Tier)

Each tier requires a separate promotion.

Example:

• Tier 1 → Buy 1 → 30% OFF
• Tier 2 → Buy 2 → 50% OFF
• Tier 3 → Buy 3 → Gift or higher discount

👉 Repeat the following steps for each tier.

3. Configure Promotion Rule

• Select Order Promotion
• Condition: Order with number of qualifying products
• Set required quantity (e.g. 1, 2, 3…)

4. Configure Qualifying Products (Critical)

Click Edit under qualifying products.

Define eligible products using:

• ID → specific SKUs
• Categories → broader selection

Combining Qualifiers:

• ADD Include → OR logic (recommended)
• ADD → AND logic (only for strict bundles)

👉 Tiered campaigns usually rely on OR logic to maximize participation.

Click Save, then Apply.

5. Configure Discount or Reward

Depending on the tier:

• Percentage discount (e.g. 30%, 50%)
• Fixed amount discount
• Bonus product (gift)

👉 You can mix rewards across tiers.

Examples:

• Tier 1 → 30% OFF
• Tier 2 → 50% OFF
• Tier 3 → Free product

6. Configure Discounted Products

• Catalog → discount applies to all qualifying products
• ID → discount applies to selected products only

Click Save.

7. Repeat for Each Tier

Create one promotion per threshold.

👉 Each promotion represents one level of the pyramid.

8. Manage Promotion Compatibility (Critical)

Since multiple promotions will run together:

• Use Exclusivity by Class to prevent stacking
• Or configure Mutually Exclusive Promotions

👉 Without this, multiple tiers may apply at the same time.

9. Create the Campaign

Go to: Merchant Tools → Online Marketing → Campaigns

• Click New
• Enter ID
• Set Enabled to YES

10. Configure Campaign

• Set Start Date and End Date
• Assign the Coupon

11. Assign All Promotions

In the Experiences section:

• Add all tier promotions
• Set Required Qualifiers to ALL

Click Apply.

12. Save and Test

• Add 1 product → Tier 1 applies
• Add 2 products → Tier 2 applies
• Add 3 products → Tier 3 applies
• Verify no unintended stacking
